The following pictures are from a community Choices Level 1 workshop help on 4-14-2000. The first session of the workshop took place on a Friday evening in the Choices room at Trinity United Methodist Church on Turner Street in Allentown. The adult facilitators present that evening were Dan Gonzalez, Russell Tillman and Lisa McShane. Each of whom were trained as facilitators during their residency at Lehigh County Prison. Dan Gonzalez was trained in the very first group in March of 1997. Ed Johnson II was among the trainees in the second group which completed training in December of 1997. Dan was released in August of 1997 and entered the half way house for Emmanuel's Hands. Later on he became director of the Williams House Unit. Ed Johnson II facilitated in LCP and became lead facilitator there. He volunteered as an inmate lead facilitator for 2 and a half years before being released to Keenan House and facilitating the program there for 6 months. Russell Tillman took over as lead inmate facilitator upon Ed's release and upon entrance back into the community each of them volunteered to assist with the community workshops. Lisa McShane was an inmate facilitator for the women's unit at LCP and also upon being released to Keenan House she co-led the workshops there with Ed. Juvenile Facilitator Jessica Merwarth also assisted in community workshops and Keenan House workshops. Juvenile Facilitator Sharon James has assisted in community workshops and several speaking engagements in the community. But in these pictures, Sharon was in training.

Jessica Merwarth and Dan Gonzalez demonstrate a light and lively called pass the face in which participants must make a face at the person to their right. That person must copy the face back and then turn to the next person on the right and create a new face. Light and Lively's help to break up the tension and concentration after a deep exercise that brings many feelings with it.

Ed Johnson III is laughing very hard after passing the face to Justin Merwarth who is making a copy of Ed's face. Sharon James and Evelyn Tillman are also enjoying this game.
